Hunting and fishing are valuable parts of North Carolina’s history, and significant contributors to the state’s economy. That is why NC Sound Economy strongly supports a constitutional amendment affirming our citizens’ rights to hunt and fish.
Our inland coastal waters, in particular, should support more fishing of all types. Our landmark study shows the state’s inland waters could support nearly 1,500 additional jobs through fishing.
A right to fish means little if there are no fish to catch. NC Sound Economy believes that a constitutional amendment affirming the right to fish will bring needed attention to our fisheries and the coastal economy.
